Abstract

BACKGROUND CONTEXT: Hardware failure and loss of reduction after posterior instrumentation are common complications in the treatment of osteoporotic compression fracture. This is due to insufficiency of anterior column support. Polymethylmethacrylate has been used for augmentation of vertebral bodies; however, there are cement related complications. Bone graft is always the best material to fill the voids in fractures.
