Abstract

Recognizing emotions in others is key to successfully navigating social interactions. Neurological abnormalities are associated with emotion processing deficits seen in children with neurodevelopmental disorders including those with chromosome 22q11.2 deletion syndrome (22q11.2DS). The origins of these deficits are multivariate but understanding the neurocorrelates of emotion processing impairment in 22q11.2DS may provide insight into risk of future mental illness common in this population.
