Abstract

BACKGROUND CONTEXT: Adult spinal deformity (ASD) is one of the most complex spinal disorders and includes a wide variety of spinal disease. Considering the aging population, the number of patients who will likely require spinal deformity surgery will greatly increase. Nutritional insufficiency is an important and significant factor that can predispose patients to adverse postoperative outcomes. The relationship between nutritional status and outcomes has not been previously explored in adult spinal deformity cases.
