Abstract

Systemic corticosteroids are mainstay treatment for acute asthma exacerbations. The effect of chronic administration of systemic steroids in patients with autoimmune disorders has been reported. However, the quantified severity and extent of immunosuppression in asthmatic children receiving frequent systemic steroids bursts has not been reported.
