Abstract

Alpha-Gal Syndrome (AGS) is an IgE-mediated hypersensitivity to galactose-α-1,3-galactose, found in mammalian meat. Its prevalence in the Southeastern U.S. led to the hypothesis that a bite from the Lone Star Tick may play a role in its development. This survey was structured to assess primary care physicians’ (PCP) perceptions of common symptoms, triggers, and treatments of AGS.
