Abstract
Introduction: Original studies evaluating oncological safety of breast conserving surgery excluded large or multi-focal breast cancers and variations in surgical technique, study design and outcome measures make interpretation of data regarding this challenging. TM achieves acceptable aesthetic outcomes for tumours, whilst avoiding need for mastectomy. We assess the ability for TM to achieve clear surgical margins (CSM), its local recurrence rate, disease-free and overall survival, over a 14-year follow-up period.
