Abstract

Cooling of myocardial tissues destabilizes spiral wave reentry through a prolongation of the action potential and a decrease in conduction velocity. We hypothesized that regional cooling facilitates spontaneous and DC shock-induced termination of spiral wave reentry through unpinning of rotors.
