Abstract
Introduction: As the number of breast cancer survivors increase, interest in patient management and surveillance after mastectomy has also increased. There is variation in surveillance between units in terms of duration and frequency of follow-up, clinical and radiographical follow-up or mammography alone and upper age limits. Our current practice is annual mammogram for 5 years for all. With increasing numbers of patients requiring surveillance and finite resources we looked at whether there is a group of patients in whom surveillance mammography may not be necessary.
