Abstract

magnetic-resonance-spectroscopy (MRS) is 92.7% of Control level (p =0.0252) (8 studies). Conclusion: These data indicate that the lower brain levels of choline-containing compounds as measured by MRS, may reflect lower plasma availability of choline-containing lipids in AD. This suggests that patients with AD have specific nutritional requirements for choline to increase plasma choline-containing phospholipids, leading to increased choline availability for the brain.
