Abstract

Exclusive decays of eta(c) into vector meson pairs (phi phi, rho rho, K*(K) over bar*, omega omega, omega phi) are investigated in the framework of the P-3(0) quark-creation model. While these decay widths are zero in the leading order of alpha(s) in the perturbative QCD scheme, the P-3(0) quark-creation mechanism gives results comparable with experimental data. We also calculate the rates of Gamma(eta(c)(2S)-> VV)/Gamma(eta(c)-> VV). The results show different behavior from those decay modes allowed by perturbative QCD in leading order.
