Abstract

To explore the clinical value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEU) in diagnosing rupture of uterus preoperatively and evaluating the degree of rupture and its rehabilitation process postoperatively. In this study, 5 rupture of uterus confirmed by surgery received preoperative or postoperative routine ultrasound and CEU examination. Routine ultrasonographic characteristic and perfusing characteristic of contrast agent in rupture of uterus preoperatively and postoperatively were analyzed. And the characteristic in its rehabilitation was analyzed by follow-up. CEU could differentiate the ruptured uterus from normal uterus by showing lack of contrast agent infusion in ruptured serosal layer. Early postoperative CEU could show lack of contrast agent infusion in rupture due to lacking supply of blood. And during uterus rehabilitation process, contrast agent infusion in ruptured uterus myometrium increased from nothing, and got back to normal gradually. CEUS provides high sensitivity and accuracy in diagnosing rupture of uterus and evaluating the degree of rupture and its rehabilitation process postoperatively.
