Abstract

The recently suggested $A$ dependence of the sub-Coulomb proton optical model potential in the mass region $89\ensuremath{\le}A\ensuremath{\le}130$ is here discussed. Optical model parameters are deduced for $^{89}\mathrm{Y}$, $^{93}\mathrm{Nb}$, and $^{103}\mathrm{Rh}$ from neutron and proton scattering data. Comparisons are made with previous analyses of proton strength functions.NUCLEAR REACTIONS spherical optical model calculations, nucleon strength functions: $A=89, 93, 103$, shell effect, $^{93}\mathrm{Nb}$ ($p, p$) ${E}_{p}=22.2$ MeV, $^{93}\mathrm{Nb}(p, n)$ $^{93}\mathrm{Zr}$ ${E}_{p}=18.7$ MeV.
