Abstract

To describe a case of Persistent Sexual Arousal Syndrome (PSAS), a newly described syndrome whose main characteristic is persistent physiologic sexual arousal in the absence of conscious feelings of sexual desire, initially described by Leiblum and Nathan (2001). The persistent physiologic arousal may be triggered not only by a sexual activity but also by seemingly non-sexual stimuli or no stimuli at all. The physiologic signs of persistent arousal are experienced as uninvited, intrusive, and unwanted.
