Abstract

The high cancer mortality determines the relevance of studying metabolic features involved in the initiation and progression of the malignant process in various types of pancreatic diseases. An important role in the regulation of processes supporting tumor progression and the development of its resistance to treatment is played by the antioxidant system, and especially by the glutathione-dependent unit, considered as one of the main key components of cancer pathophysiology. The purpose of the study was a comparative analysis of the functioning of the enzyme unit of the antioxidant system in the blood of patients with pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer, pancreatic adenocarcinoma and chronic pancreatitis.
