Abstract

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a polypeptide (with different isoforms), which has the most important angiogenic properties to date. It has been shown a role of VEGF in habitual abortion on the basis of previous reports showing an involvement of this factor on the abortive process. It has also been shown an increase of VEGF in endometria of endometriotic patients whereas in endometria of habitual aborters there is a lack of this factor . Successively several authors (and we among them), have demonstrated that endometriotic patients have more probabilities and rate of habitual abortion.
