Abstract

Natural or induced LH surge is a part of the natural cycle or stimulated cycles during Assited Reproduction Technique (ART). Although the classical role of LH has been to trigger ovulation, the presence of LH receptors has been demonstrated in the human endometrium and LH has been found to induce proliferation and differentiation of endometrial cells. During treatment with Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) cycles to prepare the endometrium for Frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET), high doses of estrogen typically inhibit LH surge and thus patients’ endometrium is exposed to estrogen and progesterone but not to LH.
