Abstract

The It has been reported that 10-15% of singleton IVF/ICSI births start as a higher order gestation. Research has shown that IVF/ICSI singletons have a greater incidence of preterm delivery and low birth weight than spontaneously conceived singletons. Multiple explanations have been suggested including abnormalities established during early placentation when multiple implantation sites occur or underlying causes of infertility itself rather than the IVF treatment leads to the adverse perinatal outcomes.
