Abstract
The commonly used ovulation induction protocol for IVF at present is the combined use of GnRHa, HMG and HCG. This protocol, however, is accompanied by various complications, such as the ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, increased costs for the therapy, and certain risks, including the increased incidence of multiple pregnancies. Although IVF protocol utilizing the natural ovulation cycle is the least onerous therapy for patients, it entails the possible loss of the optimal oocyte retrieval timing because the LH surge is not controlled.
