Abstract

AbstractFrustrated AFLCs exhibit a sharp decline of holding voltage when they are driven by TFTs for high quality displays. The reason is that the response time of the LCs is longer than the gate pulse width, and frustrated AFLCs have large spontaneous polarization. The sharp decline of holding voltage becomes the cause of low contrast, and is an important problem to be considered in designing LCDs. In this paper, to solve this problem we propose a noble M‐sector driving method and a new gray‐implementation method.
