Abstract

Display technology has been developing rapidly in recent decades and the basic principle is related to the way that the image is illuminated and light is emanated. This work proposes and demonstrates a novel display illuminating scheme which is capable of providing display viewing only in certain spatial regions. For a viewer close and away from the designated regions, the display content becomes invisible. The scheme is associated with an axicon lens [1] and four lenses that enables to view only in designated continuous region, as shown in the Fig. 1. The longitudinal depth‐designed display illumination with the advantages of no lighting‐noise will have impact on intelligent lighting display in the future.
