reported since only 35% of the sample answered ‘very much’. Considering availability the same value was reported for the answer ‘sometimes’ and ‘ much’ (25.8%). Conclusions: Promazine was the most frequently used drug when treating agitated elderly patients, regardless of their diagnosis. Other drugs were used less frequently and with very different preferences among different prescribers. A larger sample is needed to confirm our preliminary finding.
