Abstract

LCD panel has extremely important research significance and practical value in the field of modern engineering because of its excellent display performance, light and thin characteristics. The liquid crystal glass material has the characteristics of thin and brittle, which produces large residual stress in the process of mechanical cutting. There are defects and micro cracks and other debris at the cutting edge, easy to make the glass fragment, resulting in the low rate of finished products. Based on fracture mechanics, this paper focuses on the analysis of the strength of the different crack depths against the external force. According to the material properties, leading force and crack size, fracture toughness values of materials are calculated through pressure test of the glass cutting into different thickness. It lays a theoretical foundation for the study of the following glass cutting technology, and has certain significance for the study of the cutting strength of the liquid crystal display panel.
