Abstract

Published reproductive outcomes are limited in carriers of structural chromosome rearrangements because of their low prevalence. In addition, reproductive outcomes should be stratified for the type of rearrangements and the indication for ascertainment. This study was designed to review the published cases of parental carriers of a reciprocal translocation, ascertained on the basis of recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL), defined as at least two miscarriages of less than 20 weeks of gestation. Subsequent pregnancy outcomes were tabulated, based on whether management was medical or in vitro fertilization/preimplantation genetic diagnosis (IVF/PGD).
