Abstract

Surgery remains the mainstay of curative treatment for colorectal cancers. Despite significant advances in the detection and treatment of colorectal cancers, a significant number of patients require an intestinal stoma. This study was done to assess the impact of colostomy on psychosocial aspects of quality of life in colorectal cancer patients at the time of registration and 6 months after the commencement of treatment.
