Abstract

In the last decade, a growing number of studies have shed light on the role of extracellular vesicles, and mainly of exosomes, in cancer generally, as well as in colorectal cancer (CRC) more specifically. The available published data regarding the clinical significance of the pathway of exosome biogenesis in CRC are limited, while the role of major components of this pathway in CRC has not been clarified. The current study aims to investigate the clinical significance of the exosome biogenesis pathway in CRC, evaluating the expression of the most important molecules, which are implicated in the pathway, and associating them with the clinical outcome.
