Abstract

A circular polarizer combined with a diffraction optical structure was developed to reduce the angular color shift of RGB OLEDs with a microcavity structure. The 45° tilted color gamut of commercial OLED tablet displays was enhanced from 61% to 69% NTSC (CIE 1931), and the visible greenish white images at the large viewing angle have been suppressed substantially. We attribute this to the moderate blue shift phenomenon of RGB emission spectrum and the matched angular emission distributions of RGB sub‐pixels.
