Abstract

Traditional way to upgrade the stability and current efficiency performance of OLED device is seeking for new generation of electroluminescent materials. We provide a composite cavity design for longer lifetime, lower cost, and equivalent luminance by using the same materials. It consists of two first‐order red and green cavities and a second‐order blue cavity, which means different optical thickness of the RGB micro cavities. Due to the shorter distance between emitting molecules and metal electrodes, 1st order cavity obtains longer lifetime by surface plasmon coupling. A 52.7% improvement of calculated white lifetime can be accomplished with a respective 89.1% and 54.9% longer lifetime of red and green devices. 1/3 even more organic materials can be saved. Less angular luminance decay and lower working voltage are also demonstrated in the experimental part.
