Abstract
The template effect on stability of multi‐phase twist structure liquid crystals was investigated. If a cholesteric liquid crystal (CLC) of different pitch was refilled into CLC template, the refilling CLC and intrinsic CLC can co‐exist in the template. If a blue phase liquid crystal (BPLC) of different pitch was refilled into the CLC template, only the intrinsic CLC appeared. And if a CLC of different pitch was refilled into BPLC template, both the refilling CLC and intrinsic BPLC appeared in the template. However, if a BPLC of different pitch was refilled into the BPLC template, only the intrinsic BPLC appeared. The multi‐phase and multi‐pitch twist structure LC device can be fabricated by the templating process which shows great potential applications in optical communication, display, and LC lasing.
