Abstract
AbstractWe have developed a new class of positive Δ∍ and high Δn isothiocyanato phenyl‐tolane compounds for making dual frequency liquid crystal (DFLC) mixtures. A DFLC mixture based on these compounds exhibits Δn∼0.39 at λ=633 nm. Potential application for fast‐response 2D/3D switchable display is emphasized.
