Abstract

OLEDs have become a promising candidate for flexible displays. It is obvious that the requirements on the mechanical property of a flexible OLED screen are higher than common OLED displays. However, with a stacked structure and a complicated property of optically clear adhesive (OCA), it is very difficult to theoretically compute or experimentally measure the stress and strain distributions on each layer during the bending process. The paper employs finite element analysis to evaluate the bending property of a flexible OLED screen. For common U‐shaped bending, the maximum stress increases rapidly as the bending radius decreases. For small bending radius, the water‐drop‐shaped mode presents higher structure reliability than U‐shaped bending.
