Abstract

Introduction: McArdle’s disease (glycogen storage disease type V) is an inherited disorder of glycogen metabolism affecting only skeletal muscle. [1] Quinlivan R, Buckley J, James M, et al McArdle disease: a clinical review. J Neurol Neurosurg Psychiatry 2010;81:1182-8. Google Scholar Data on anaesthetic implications in pregnant women with this condition are scarce, thus posing a challenge to their management. We describe a case of a pregnant woman with McArdle’s disease presenting to our tertiary unit.
