Abstract

The mechanism of rapid remission of diabetes following laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (LRYGB) is not fully understood. While the effect of hormonal signaling has been extensively studied, the potential role of the hepatic vagus nerve (HVN) on glucose metabolism has received little attention. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of HVN transection during LRYGB on glucose metabolism.
