Abstract

Tissue engineered blood vessel is a new candidate for tissue substitution in clinics. Currently, endothelial cells are deemed as first-line seed cells, but restricted in further application for the lack of donor sources. Meanwhile, embryonic stem (ES) cells are expected to be a new source of seed cells because of their unlimited self-renewing capacity and multilineage differentiation potential. In this study, we did some research on human ES cells in an attempt to expend new sources of seeding cells for tissue engineering of blood vessel.
