Abstract

Male hypogonadism is a condition in which the body does not produce enough testosterone. Testosterone is a hormone that plays a key role in masculine growth and development during puberty. Male hypogonadism is characterized by deficiency in testosterone – a critical hormone for sexual, cognitive, and body function and development. Clinically low testosterone levels can lead to infertility, muscle wasting and other sexual disorders. Low testosterone levels may be due to testicular, hypothalamic or pituitary abnormalities. 28 years old male patient attended our clinic soon after pituitary adenoma resection with the complains of decreased energy and interest, weight gain. He had no other complains. We aimed to perform all laboratory tests not to miss any releasing hormone deficiency. All hormones were within normal ranges, while Luteinizing Hormone - 0,79 mIU/mL (N 1,5-9,3) Follicle-stimulating hormone 1,33 (N 1,4-18,1) Free Testosterone 3,26 (N6,2-28,1) levels were low. So the diagnosis of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (HH) was obvious.
