Abstract
The main objective of this study is to analyze the benefits of ozone therapy in patients with wounds that are difficult to heal. This is an integrative review carried out through searches in the VHL, SciELO, MEDLINE, PUBMED and LILACS databases. Ten articles were analyzed, which were presented in four categories. It is noteworthy in the analyzed studies that ozone therapy becomes a promising treatment for wounds that are difficult to heal due to its high efficiency in accelerating tissue repair, which consequently reduces the hospitalization time of patients and improves the quality of life, when used properly, because the irregular use of ozone becomes harmful to tissue repair. Therefore, further investigation is needed on the use of ozone treatment in wounds of different etiologies.
