AbstractA modified rotating packed contactor was designed and evaluated for the mass transfer of ozone and the ozonation efficiency of 2-chlorophenol under various operational conditions. The rotating packed contactor was composed of an immobilized disc and a rotating packed disc. Both the overall ozone transfer coefficient and decomposition rate of 2-chlorophenol by ozonation process in the modified rotating packed bed were enhanced with increasing rotor speed or decreasing gas/liquid flow rate ratio.
