Abstract

Abstract Oxytocin stimulation was employed electively in the management of labor in twin gestations and for the treatment of dysfunctional labor. The total number of patients was 226, 34 of whom demonstrated a dysfunctional labor pattern. The results indicated that oxytocin stimulation of labor is both safe and effective for mother and fetus. The corrected perinatal mortality was 0.7 per cent.
