Abstract

The composition of the oxygen-containing surface functional groups produced by the oxidation of the Tekhnosorb carbon nanocomposite material is studied using chemical analysis and titrimetry. The oxygen-containing groups on the carbon surface are identified by IR spectroscopy. The oxygen content of the surface functional groups is determined as a function of oxidation conditions, and the static exchange capacity of the material is shown to correlate with its surface composition.
