Abstract
There was no difference between diploid and triploid Atlantic salmon in either oxygen consumption rate or PO 2 at asphyxiation, in spite of the increase in erythrocyte volume and lower blood haemoglobin content associated with triploidy. It is suggested that triploids should adapt to reduced oxygen levels as well as diploids.
