Abstract

A thermodynamic analysis of the oxygen solutions in the hafnium-containing Fe–Co melts is performed. The equilibrium constants of the deoxidation reaction of iron-cobalt melts with hafnium, the activity coefficients at infinite dilution, and the interaction parameters for melts differing in composition are determined. The dependences of the oxygen solubility in the melts under study on the cobalt and hafnium contents are calculated.
