Abstract

Two kinds of methods were carried out in order to dope the oxygen in La 2CuO 4 structure; one is the annealing under high oxygen pressure at high temperature and the other, electrochemical oxidation in an aqueous alkaline solution at ambient temperature. The difference in orthorhombicity was seen in La 2CuO 4+z with the same z value but prepared by different routes, indicating the difference in excess oxygen distribution. The electrochemical oxidation is also effective to bring the superconductivity in La 2−x Bi x CuO 4+z and La 2−x Pb x CuO 4+z system. Some samples show the Tc onset of 28K for La 1.93Bi 0.07CuO 4 and 15–20K for Pb doped one.
