Abstract
Mo 2 O 3 (dtc) 2 I 2 (THF) 2 can be used to reduce a variety of oxygen atom donating heterocyclic amine oxides and sulfoxides, including pyridine N-oxide, nicotinamide N-oxide, dimethyl sulfoxide, diphenyl sulfoxide, and biotin S-oxide, in either CH 2 Cl 2 or THF. In these reactions oxygen atom transfer results in the appropriate heterocyclic amine or sulfide and an MoO 2 2+ compound
