Abstract

Second-order 17O ( I = 5 2 ) hyperfine structure has been observed in the zero-field optically-detected magnetic resonance spectrum of the lowest triplet state of benzophenone. A preliminary analysis of these results suggests that the n electron is highly localized on the oxygen atom.
