Abstract

(Acta Anaesthesiol Scand. 2020;64:685–690) While systemic opioids are effective for labor analgesia, there are concerns for adverse fetal and maternal effects, particularly at higher doses. However, there are limited data on the use of oxycodone during labor and on the use of any opioid during the latent phase of labor. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy, fetal exposure, and safety of subcutaneous (SC) oxycodone used for labor analgesia during the latent phase.
