Abstract

Efficient oxidative transformation of thiols to disulfides took place in the presence of activated carbon under an oxygen (or air) atmosphere. The present oxidation method is available not only for a variety of thiols such as simple aromatic and aliphatic thiols but also for 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1 H)-thiones and N-Boc- l-cysteine.
