Abstract

Three types of calcium aluminosilicate, Ca12Al14O33 (C12A7), Ca12Al14Si2O34 (C12A6), and Ca12Al10Si4O35 (C12A5), were prepared by calcining the respective hydrothermally synthesized hydrogarnet, Ca3Al2(OH)12, Ca3Al2(SiO>4)1/3(OH)32/3, and Ca3Al2(SiO4)0.8(OH)8.8. Different amounts of superoxide (O2-) and peroxide (O22-) were occluded in the lattice of these calcium aluminosilicates. No activity improvement was observed for the oxidation of propylene and benzene by increasing the amounts of (O2-) and (O22-).
