Oxidation of polyunsaturated ethers and esters by molecular oxygen catalyzed by palladium salts

Abstract

1. A study was carried out on the oxidation of polyunsaturated ethers and esters by molecular oxygen catalyzed by the PdCl2-CuCl system. A series of new mono-, di-, and triketoethers and triketoesters was obtained in high yield. 2. A synergistic effect of quaternary ammonium salts was found in the oxidation by molecular O2 leading to an increase in the yield of carbonyl compounds.
