Abstract

1. The concentration of Ni in the intermediate oxide layer and in the internal oxidation layer is 1.5–2 times higher than in the bulk of the metal, and it depends on the oxidation temperature and exposure time. 2. Nickel promotes formation of an intermediate oxide layer 80–100 μm thick, as well as the development of internal oxidation, thus improving adherence of the oxide film to the metal surface.
