Abstract

Oxidn. of glutamic acid by Bromamine B is rapid and stoichiometric in pH 1-6 pH buffers. The reaction involves a 4-electron process. A back-titrn. procedure for the detn. of glutamic acid in an acetate buffer (pH 4) medium was developed. The method was extended for the estn. of glutamic acid in its trivalent rare earth complexes. The effect of other species on the oxidn. was investigated. Direct titrn. procedures for the detn. of methionine and glutathione in the presence of glutamic acid are also proposed. [on SciFinder(R)]
