Abstract

1. The oxidation of cumene in the presence of inorganic and organic catalysts containing various metals were studied. 2. On these catalysts the same kinetic principles are observed in the oxidation of cumene as we obtained earlier on activated charcoal BAU, permitting us to propose a radical-chain mechanism. 3. The oxidation of ethylbenzene on Cu2O/NiO and n-heptene on Cu2O/NiO and MnO2 was studied. The principles characteristic of a radical-chain mechanism of oxidation are also observed on these systems.
